Terms of Service.

Intake is free and commits you to nothing. Scoping is $500 and is credited in full to your contract if you proceed. Build contracts are fixed-price — you know the number before work starts. We work with publicly available data only, and our deliverables are raw data, not consumer reports.

Recordpipe builds custom data pipelines from publicly available records: government records, public filings, published directories, and open registries. We do not work with breached or stolen datasets, and we do not collect private personal information. Requests outside public data are declined at intake. Each engagement's exact scope is defined in a written scope document that forms part of your contract.

Our deliverables are raw public data and are not consumer reports. Recordpipe is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). If you intend to use data for decisions about employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance eligibility, say so in the intake form — those requests go through a compliance review before any work is scoped, and you may be asked to attest to your own FCRA obligations. You are responsible for the legality of your use of delivered data under the laws that apply to you.

The intake form is free. Submitting it does not create a contract or an obligation on either side. We reply to every request within 2 business days. Information you submit is handled as described in our privacy policy.

Scoping is a fixed $500 engagement. Within 5 business days of scoping payment you receive a feasibility read, a sample of the data, and a fixed-price quote for the build. The $500 is credited in full against your build contract if you proceed. If we cannot deliver what you asked for, we say so plainly — and if scoping shows the request is not feasible, we refund the scoping fee in full.

Builds are fixed-price contracts from $5,000 to $3 million depending on scope, milestone-billed. The full price is quoted before work starts — there are no hourly meters. Each contract is a written agreement signed by both sides, with a scope document, milestones, and acceptance criteria. A contract exists only when signed; nothing on this website is an offer to contract.

Ongoing aggregation runs on a refresh retainer — daily, weekly, monthly, or as-needed — quoted with your contract. Retainer terms, cadence, and delivery format are defined in the contract itself.

We deliver in the format your contract specifies: file (CSV/Parquet), hosted API, dashboard, or webhook push. Each milestone has acceptance criteria in the scope document; a milestone is accepted when its criteria are met. If a delivery does not meet the agreed criteria, we fix it at no additional charge.

You may cancel a refresh retainer at the end of any billing period with written notice. Fixed-price build contracts may be cancelled as provided in the contract itself; completed milestones remain payable, and work in progress on unfinished milestones is settled pro-rata against the contract price.

You agree not to use delivered data for unlawful purposes, not to resell it as a consumer-reporting product, and not to represent it as originating from any government body. Responsibility for how the data is used downstream sits with you, including compliance with laws such as FCRA, GDPR, and CCPA where they apply to your use.

Public data sources change without notice; we deliver the data as it is available from the sources scoped in your contract, normalized to the agreed schema. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recordpipe's total liability under any engagement is limited to the fees you paid for that engagement, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published here on the date you sign a contract. Engagements already signed keep the terms they were signed under.
